The first confirmed import for the Raiders next season is Jaroslav Cesky who is back for his third successive season on the Island.
The 37 year old Czech forward is a hugely experienced player whose stats speak for themselves. In two seasons with the Raiders Jaro has scored 79 goals with 111 assists in 102 games. Prior to joining the Raiders he amassed nearly 400 points in the EPL playing for a number of teams including Bracknell Bees, Swindon Wildcats and Basingstoke Bison. He was named EPL player of the year in 2010.
Cesky’s return is a big boost for the team as we look to challenge for league honours next season. Head coach Jeremy Cornish says his experience will be invaluable.
“I’m really excited to have Jaro to returning this upcoming year. We once again have a young team and he brings a wealth of experience to our club. With me stepping behind the bench this year, Jaro will be expected to step up both on and off the ice to provide that veteran leadership that will be needed.
He is still one of the best imports in our league and I think pairing him up with a couple of new line mates this year will make things difficult for opposing team’s defence to handle.”
The Raiders have also signed a second import who will be new to the club but not to the league. We will announce him before the end of the week.
