Ryan and Aidan

For those who missed it at the weekend our Head Coach Jeremy Cornish has announced the first two signings for the 2016-2017 season.

Ryan Webb returns for his third season with the club having had a breakthrough year in 2015-2016 ending up as the team’s third top points scorer. A former Guildford and Bracknell junior Ryan joined the Raiders after a season split between Bracknell Hornets and Slough Jets EPL team. His league stats of 28 goals and 16 assists from 36 games this season placed him in the league’s Top 20 points scorers and Cornish is delighted to have him back.

“Ryan became of our most important players this year and was voted best forward by the fans so we’re obviously delighted to have him back.”

Also signing for the new season is Aidan Doughty. The 20 year old made a handful of appearances for the Raiders after posting impressive stats for the Island’s Under 18 team where he scored a staggering 147 goals in just 48 games. After leaving the Island in 2013 he has played 3 seasons in the USA where he has starred for three different clubs scoring 82 points in the Western States Hockey League. He is another big signing for the Raiders and Jeremy Cornish is delighted he’s on board as a full time Raider.

“It’s no secret that Aidan has caught the eye of higher league teams so we’re very excited that he’s agreed to restart his UK hockey career with the Raiders. We’re expecting him to be an important player for us next season“.
