Wightlink Junior Raiders U15’s Ice hockey team took on Bracknell U15’s at Ryde Arena. Wightlink Junior Raiders still looking for their first win of the season. The match didn’t get of to the start that they had hoped for , as Bracknell scored the first two goals of the game at 7.50 and another a short time after at 8.47.
Not to be outdone the islanders got back into the match as Junior Raiders Kieran Tavner scored at 20.13 in the second period . Bracknell responded at 25.14 to go 3-1 up. Tavner yet again put the puck in the net at 25.36 to trail by 1 heading for the final 20 minutes.
Wightlink Junior Raiders Jamie Southwell got them level at 37.42. Looking like the match was heading for a draw, a good spell in the Island sides end resulted in Bracknell getting a late go ahead goal to lead 4-3 with just under 17 minutes to go. Despite pulling the net minder they visitors took both points.
Man of the match went to Jacob Miller with Jimi Eldridge picking up Spirit of the match.
Their next match is away at Oxford on 24th October.
