Wightlink Raiders are delighted to confirm the signing of another former Island junior as netminder Aaron Craft joins the squad for the new season.
Aaron, who turns 19 in August, is from Sandown and played as a junior at Ryde Arena before a spell in the USA with Dallas Snipers last season. He also played briefly for Invicta Dynamos before establishing himself as first choice netminder for the Wightlink Tigers towards the latter part of last season.
Aaron’s arrival as back up netminder means Shannon Long will no longer be joining the team for the new season which starts in September.
Head coach Jeremy Cornish says Aaron is an exciting prospect who he’s looking forward to seeing in a Raiders jersey.
“Aaron has trained with us a number of times over the years and we are very happy we have added him on a full time basis.
We’d like to wish Shannon well for his future career. He was a great character on the team but sadly we weren’t able to accommodate him once we found out there was no team house this year. I’m sure he’ll go on to do a great job elsewhere this season.”
Another new face will be announced and added to the squad tomorrow.
