NIHL play off champions Wightlink Raiders are delighted to confirm that player coach Jeremy Cornish will return to lead the team’s title challenge for 2015-2016.

35 year old Canadian forward Cornish has been at the helm of the Raiders throughout their time in the NIHL and is back for his 7th season as player coach.

The team’s play off triumph over Invicta Dynamos capped a memorable weekend for the Raiders during which the future of Ryde Arena was also secured.  After finishing 4th in the league Cornish claimed the play off championship was the highlight of his coaching career so far and is confident he can guide the team to more success next season.

“I’m excited to build off last season’s play-off success and recruitment has already started to bring in another hard working entertaining team.”

Prior to joining the Raiders in 2009 Cornish was one of the best known players in British ice hockey making his name as an enforcer with the likes of Newcastle Vipers, Sheffield Steelers and London Racers.  In 6 seasons he’s made over 200 appearances scoring over 230 points and clocking up over 650 penalty minutes.

More announcements on next year’s squad will be made in the near future.
