Well, we haven’t been able to say that this season and it sure does feel nice.
It has been a bit of a rough start so far by our standards, and something I knew was going to take time. We have 12 new players now and it is difficult to get everyone on the same page right from the start.
This past weekend was maybe against weaker opposition, but we finally started to play the way I was hoping when the team was built in the summer.
Saturday we hosted Oxford and it was nice to see the guys bounce back from the disappointing defeat they handed us a couple weeks ago. The game was close through the first period, but we started to find our form about half way through and I was happy with the effort we put forth.
Sunday we travelled to Cardiff and played a pretty clinical game. This was our most complete performance so far this year, we kept the shots low against and generated a good number of chances ourselves.
This weekend we host Gosport and they have started to find their form. It is always fun when they visit and I look forward to games against our closest rivals.
Sunday we travel to Streatham and they have to be the surprise team so far this year. They are undefeated and look as though they are going to be a very difficult team to face in their rink.
This week in training we are going to continue working on our transition game and that is something I have been focusing on the last three weeks. With so many new players, it’s important to use repetition in training sessions so everyone is on the same page.
I’m looking forward to this weekend, two massive games and we need the great support to continue.
