Wightlink Raiders have added more localness to the squad this week with the signing of 21 year old forward Aaron Edwards.
Islander Aaron has spent the last 3 seasons playing in NIHL 2 with the Wightlink Tigers and makes the step up a division after training with the Raiders in the last two weeks. In 75 games with the Tigers he scored 20 goals with 53 assists. He also turned out for Isle of Wight and Gosport juniors.
Head coach Jeremy Cornish says Aaron has impressed everyone with his enthusiasm and attitude and deserves his place on the team.
“With the recent loss of both Keiran Annis and Nathan Taylor it was important that we found another younger player to add to our group. Aaron has settled in very well with the team and as he is local, he already knows most of the guys. From what I have seen in him so far, he looks very useful and a pretty decent player.
He has good speed and can handle the puck and has produced at the NIHL2 level the last couple years. Although it will take him some to time to adjust to the speed of our league, I’m certain he won’t look out of place.”
