The Raiders are delighted to confirm the signing of exciting young forward Ryan Webb, who joins from EPL team Slough Jets.

20 year old Webb is a former Great Britain junior international who played several seasons with Bracknell Hornets before moving up a league last season.  In 121 games at NIHL level he has 36 goals and 62 assists to his name.  The Guildford born right hander started his career as a junior with Guildford before being fast tracked into the Hornets ENL set up aged just 16.  He is still considered to be one of the most exciting young prospects in British ice hockey.

Head coach Jeremy Cornish is delighted with how well his squad is coming together and thinks Webb will be an important player this season.

“Ryan is a speedy, skilled forward and a player I have liked for a couple years now. He took a chance midway through last season to join the Slough Jets and I’m hoping that experience will help him on the Island.  We are trying to build a team to challenge for all trophies again this year and this signing shows we’re still interested in developing players and challenging them at the same time. Ryan has been a consistent performer at the NIHL level for a few years now, but I think surrounded by even better players this could be a break out year for him.”

The squad is now taking shape nicely with more names to be added over the next few weeks.  The new NIHL season will start in September with the league format expected to be confirmed shortly.
