We have a massive weekend coming up and it’s the semi-final against one of our biggest rivals, the Invicta Dynamos.
Last weekend we played Bracknell in the first round and came away with two wins. Bracknell have a number of good solid prospects and it’s great to see so many players coming out of there and getting EPL experience along the way.
This weekend is going to be very challenging for our team, but I do know the guys will be up for it. Invicta once again has a very gifted offensive team and it’s going to be our job to try and limit the amount of shots against. Our team has really improved over the last few weeks and as a coach it’s nice to see guys buying in and getting themselves ready for such an important time of year. Play-offs are my favorite time of the year and playing in such important games get the best out of the players. You can really see what guys are made of during these games, intensity is much higher and I think it’s the best hockey of the year to watch.
In training this week we will not be changing much, we have had some good sessions of late and I expect that to carry on over to the weekend. It’s common for coaches to say ‘you practice like you play’ and I really do believe that.
I really do hope the rink is packed for this weekend, the guys are excited and we hope you guys are to.
