Merry Christmas!

What a great weekend of hockey, we pulled off two fantastic wins and roll into the Christmas break in first place. Our team had a meeting at the start of the season and we discussed the importance of being a competitive team all season. We have now reached the half way point and are still in both cup competitions and are sitting top. Yes, Chelmsford and Invicta have games in hand on us, but it is good to be in the hunt.

I always tell the guys there is no sense in giving up our weekends for eight months of the year and not have anything to play for. So, it is important that we compete in every game and try our best. I feel for the most part we have done that.

We have played pretty good for the most part, but our defensive game has let us down at times. Both games this weekend we gave up less than 30 shots against and that is our game plan each weekend. We have been scoring more often then we did last year and that’s why we brought in the players we did this summer to help give us a little boost.

We will be taking a well deserved break over Christmas and New years and hopefully come back fully refreshed to make a push during the second half of the year. I would like to thank the players for their effort and commitment so far this year and I’m excited to see what the second half will bring. On behalf of Geoff and Steve I would like to thank the fans for their support and I hope to see some big crowds down the stretch and in the play-offs. Also, I would like to thank the supporters club and our back room staff for their help and hard work.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and New Years and we will see you in a couple weeks.
