Back on Track

Well, after last weeks disappointment  the guys worked extremely hard and had two great results. On Saturday we played a very short staffed Milton Keynes team and we stuck to the game plan and came away with a 10-0 win. It’s easy in games like that to cheat and look for more goals, but the guys did a great job moving the puck and playing the game properly. Dan Weller-Evans got some ice time and it was great to see him step up and play two shut out periods. I hope that when MK get their new temporary rink, they get some players in and compete a little better for the remainder of the season.

Sunday we travelled to Bracknell and we always have a tough game when we go there. The guys once again played very well and I was surprised we came away with a 11-1 win. I must admit, we have really struggled this year with moving the puck. At times I have felt that our defence and forwards were like two different teams that couldn’t work together and break out of our zone together, I think on both nights we had finally started to click. Bracknell are always tough in their rink and to totally dominate them the way we did was rewarding as a coach. The things we have been working on really came together and I hope we can carry that into Chelmsford this upcoming Sunday.

This week in training we will continue to do what we have been doing the last two weeks because even though we stunk against Invicta, we know what needs to be improved and will continue to work on our game.

We don’t have a home game for a couple weeks, so I hope some fans can make the trips to Chelmo and Cardiff, would be great to see some Raiders fans away from home!

Have a great week
