One Week Away

Well, the summer is officially over. We had our first training session last Tuesday and I must admit, the first session of the year is always horrendous. I had an opportunity to skate a few times while I was at home in Canada, but the first serious session is always the worst.

Everyone was there for the first session, which shows the guys are excited and ready to get the season started.

We are really looking forward to the weekend. We face the Chelmsford Chieftains at home and then travel to Bracknell on Sunday. I was speaking to the guys last night on the way over and it feels like every single year our season ends in Chelmsford and we are usually on the wrong losing end.

We have two signings to announce over the next couple of days, one is a forward and one is a d-man. They both trained with us this week and they both will provide the depth we were lacking at both positions. We now have the ten forwards, six defence and two goalies that I wanted from the start. I’m also going to speak to Scott Carter from the Tigers and see if there are any players that would be interested in training with us and being put on a two-way. I have a couple players this season on two-ways with the Basingstoke Bison and I would like to have the same working relationship with the Tigers if possible.

I hope everyone is excited as we are. Last years league and play-off Champs VS the league and play-off runners up, should be a great game to kick off the new season.

See you at the rink,

JC
