The Wightlink Raiders are pleased to confirm the return of fan’s favourite Corey Watkins for the forthcoming NIHL season.
23 year old Corey joined the club from Invicta Dynamos last season and reinforced his reputation as an agitator and big hitter while keeping his overall penalty minutes down. In his 30 league games for the Raiders he scored 7 goals with 8 assists and 65 penalty minutes. Prior to playing for Invicta Corey was a member of the Cardiff ENL Devils squad and he also has EPL experience with Swindon and Romford.
Head coach Jeremy Cornish says Corey has become one of the valuable members of his team.
“Corey has settled in extremely well on the island and i think this year will be a breakout year for him. I think he is at his best when he plays an ‘in your face’ style of game and i’ll be looking to see more of that from him this year.”
