The Wightlink Raiders have signed one of the top British forwards in the NIHL, Cardiff Devils forward Steven Osman, for the new NIHL season.
25 year old Osman was the third highest scoring Brit in the league last season with 27 goals and 36 assists from 30 games while playing for Cardiff. The season before his stats were 25+46 for Bristol Pitbulls.
Swindon born Osman has been one of the most consistent performers at this level in recent years averaging 1.9 points per game over the last 4 seasons.
Head coach Jeremy Cornish is understandably thrilled with his signing.
“I have wanted to add Steve to our roster for a couple of years now and when I found out he was available to sign I jumped at the chance. Steve gives us a top line British trained player and looking at his stats over the last few years, he should be up around the top point scorers in the league again this year. He gives us size and skill at the center position that we haven’t had before. I feel this will be a break out year for him and I’m happy we don’t have to play against him!”
Steven Osman becomes the second new face on the forward line following the signing of Alex Barker from the Slough Jets earlier this month. Another new signing will be announced next week.
