Coach’s Corner

Through to the next round.

Saturday night we welcomed the Streatham Redskins to the arena for the first round of the play-offs. We hadn’t lost to Streatham this year, but I was still a little worried about how the game would go. We ended up playing pretty well and coming away with a 7-3 win. It was good to get out in front by 4 goals because on Sunday we needed that cushion. We ended up losing 4-3, but with the two goal lead over the two legs we made it through to the next round. Streatham played very well and out of the all the quarter final games that were played this past weekend, it looks as though ours was the toughest.

This weekend will be our toughest of the season, we face the Romford Raiders in the semi-finals. The first leg is played at home this Saturday with the return leg in Romford on Sunday. This will be Romford’s last game at Rom Vally Way, so we will need to be ready.

The play-offs are the best part of the season and our guys really seem up for it this year, this week in practice we are going to really focus on making sure our game plan is set. Romford are very strong, but we have proved all year we can play with them. I think we are going to need our strongest game of the season this Saturday in order for us to get a positive result heading into Sunday.

Lets make sure the rink is packed on Saturday, we need your support.
