The Wightlink Raiders are pleased to announce the signing of Scottish forward James Smith. James is coming to the Island on two-way contract from the Basingstoke Bison and he will inject offence to a already strong Raiders line-up.
Player Coach Jeremy Cornish had this to say about the clubs latest signing:
“I have been on the lookout for a while for a forward that can come in and provide us with some offence and thanks to Doug Sheppard in Basingstoke he has made James available for the time being. James knows what he needs to work on while he’s with us and I feel with a little more ice time and added responsibility he will flourish in the NIHL”.
Dundee born Smith has also iced with the Fife flyers and Scottish National League Dundee Comets this season, and it with the Comets he had an impressive 25 points in just seven games.
