For those that don’t know I am sitting a 7 game suspension for the incident against Streatham, I don’t want to make any comments about it other than I will be using the final 5 games of the suspension to coach from the bench and make sure the team is playing the system I want them to be playing heading into the playoffs.
Last Saturday we had a solid road win in Bracknell, the guys managed the bench on their own and certain guys stepped up and made sure we came away with the two points. Bracknell is a much-improved team and going to the hive is always a tough. We had a game plan that we worked at during training this past week and all of the guys made a superb effort. Our teams have always been built on brining in players that will play a certain system and we haven’t been playing that way for the last little while. Saturday’s game was the first game back to having the players play a strict system and that’s what will be asked of them for the remainder of the season.
This Saturday we have a massive game against Milton Keynes, they have given us problems, not just this year, but also in previous years. We owe them and on Saturday we will be playing a much more structured game then we have the last two times we faced them. They are a well coached team with a good young core and a solid goaltender, we had over 65 shots the last time they came to the island and this time we will make sure we are getting traffic out front of him so he doesn’t see the puck.
The stretch run to the playoffs will be very exciting for the fans and this Saturday’s game will be a good one, so if you haven’t been to a game in a while, make sure you get yourself down to the rink and bring a friend!
See you Saturday,
JC
