Not very happy…
Well, I think it’s fair to say that we have hit a bit of a rough patch these last couple weeks and it’s my job to get the guys back on track as soon as possible.
Again we went up two goals at home to Romford, and again they battled back and beat us. It’s safe to say last season that wouldn’t have happened, but we have a different team and it looks as though we just have to get back to basics and get things back on track.
We knew it would be tough coming off a championship season, most teams struggle the next year after winning. We have had a lot of turnover and even though we have quality in our line up, I’m not sure if I have the right mix.
Against Romford we out shot, out worked and out hustled them for roughly 50 minutes and then a couple silly mistakes and penalties cost us the two points. Losing in such a bad way on Saturday didn’t help us in our away game on Sunday, we just played from behind the whole time and we didn’t seem to adjust well to the big ice. MK works incredibly hard and once again some silly mistake combined with some stupid penalties cost us.
This week I’m going to strip the team down and try to build it back up in time for Saturday’s game against Cardiff. We will be doing some additional off-ice work outs combined with a video session on Thursday so we can see the mistakes that we are making. We also need to get our three lines rolling again, we had them set early last season and went with them and that has a lot to do with why we were so successful.
We have an influx of forwards right now, so things will likely change before the game on Saturday so I can get things where they need to be.
See you Saturday,
JC
